The second annual Wake Forest Economic Development Forum was held on February 2nd, 2023, bringing together over 200 attendees from the local area. Jointly presented by the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and Wake Forest Business and Industry Partnership (WFBIP), attendees received updates on the Town’s ongoing developments and welcomed Ted Abernathy to discuss how Wake Forest fits into the national and global economy.

A monumental public transportation plan is in motion for the Town! Upon completion, the restoration of high-speed passenger rail service along the S-line from Raleigh to Richmond, along with three commuter rail stops in Wake Forest, will dramatically improve the local and regional landscape over the next 3 to 7 years.

Internet of Things (“IoT”) devices were recently installed at various locations across Downtown Wake Forest, pioneering new technologies in Town that can improve the delivery of critical public services and provide residents and small businesses with actionable information in real-time.

A healthy stream of well-prepared graduates comes from local secondary schools, colleges, and universities in Wake Forest. Institutions such as North Wake College and Career Academy and Thales College provide educational opportunities and shape next-generation workers.

The Firebox Theatre Company is moving forward to create a professional theater company and performance venue in the heart of Downtown Wake Forest. The theater aspires to become another new destination among the ever-growing number of restaurants and residences, bars and shops luring residents and visitors to come and stay Downtown.
